The DISASTERS conference is primarily for the dissemination of
worldwide disaster and relief information, including messages to
and about people in the disaster areas. During non-crisis times,
discussions aimed at improving relief efforts and recovery and
information on disaster preparedness are encouraged.
This conference provides a centralized location for disaster and
relief information. Please feel free to crosspost relief
information messages to local bbses and echoes, but please don't
crosspost to other Fidonet conferences without the permission
of the other conferences' moderators. Please do encourage others
to link into this conference to help spread the info.
If you have information concerning a disaster, please post. All
we ask is that you make sure the information you share is accurate.
Participants are also encouraged to share their expertise to aid
others in preparation, survival, and recovery. Our greatest
resources are indeed human.
Please avoid political discussions. There are many other areas
where such discussions are more appropriate. Disasters is
information, rather than debate, oriented.
Conference rules:
- Play nice. Be helpful or be gone.
- Check your politics at the door.
- Quote only enough to carry the thread -- please don't quote
entire messages.
- Real names, no profanity, no ads, no high graphics or ANSI, no
gating without permission.
- Let the moderators moderate.
- Always follow the rules.
This conference is moderated by Marianne Cowley in Tampa, Fl at 1:377/3,
and Chris Baker in Titusville, Fl at 1:374/14, and available on the Zone
1 and Zone 3 Backbones.
Any Fidonet system that cannot get a link to the echo via their NEC is
welcome to poll my system -- just send me netmail with session & areafix
passwords and let me know if you'd like a rescan of previous messages.
